One town, several kinds of tree work
Bristol has been named on our service list for as long as we have had one, and it covers a lot of different work in a single town.
The dense older neighbourhoods have street trees hard up against houses and overhead lines. The ground rising toward Federal Hill and out past Lake Compounce is more open and wooded, with taller trees and more room to work. Forestville is included — same crew, same response.
What grows here
Norway and sugar maple are heavily represented on Bristol's older residential streets, along with white oak, black cherry and eastern white pine.
Norway maple in particular tends to develop dense, top-heavy crowns that catch wind badly in a summer storm. Thinning the crown before the storm is considerably cheaper than clearing it off a roof afterwards.
Getting to the tree

Do you need a permit to remove a tree in Bristol?
Connecticut does not generally require a permit to remove a tree on your own property.
What the state does require is that anyone advertising, recommending or soliciting tree work holds a valid Connecticut Arborist licence. Ours is CT # S4559.
